Exception Policy to the February 15 Membership Deadline
   
 

 

Registration Deadline:

Membership registration to Business Professionals of America for each fiscal year is due between September 1 and February 15 of the school year.

Application for exception to this deadline may be made to the National Center by local chapters.

Who May Apply:

In the following cases, chapters may receive an exception to the policy of the February 15 deadline:

  1. Local advisor error (i.e., member can verify that dues were paid prior to February 15 deadline)
  2. Other extenuating circumstances

Upon receipt of request for exception, each particular situation will be reviewed by the National Staff for approval.

Proceedure:

At least thirty (30) days prior to the start of the National Leadership Conference, the local chapter must submit a request for exception to the February 15 membership deadline. The request must include the following:

  1. A $100 non-refundable processing fee
  2. Completed chapter membership rosters to replace lost or missing rosters, along with appropriate dues
        payment
  3. A written request from the advisor, indicating the reason for late payment of dues
  4. State advisor approval

EXCEPTIONS:

A chapter may not request an exception for two consecutive years, unless the person serving as advisor is not the same person who requested an exception the previous year.
